- 01Export from WhatsApp
- 02Open in WhatStats
- 03Local chat analysis
How it works
WhatStats parses imported text and stores analyzed chat data on your iPhone. Stored analyses include names, timestamps, counts and emoji data.
Step by step
Import only a chat you are entitled to analyze. Keep an independent export if you need the original messages.
Review stored analyses and remove ones you no longer need.
Check names and statistics before sharing a receipt or video, and consult the app privacy policy.
What to keep in mind
The app also sends analytics that can include chat names, aggregate counts and device or locale information. Local processing does not mean zero data transmission.
The sample chat is fully unlocked. Your own first analysis is free; Pro unlocks full Wrapped, sharing and unlimited analyses.
Questions and answers
Is my data safe and private?
Chat parsing and saved analyses run on your iPhone. The app also uses analytics, which can include chat names, aggregate counts and device information. Review visible names and statistics before sharing an image or video.
Does the chat analysis use AI?
The chat parser and statistics use local counting and timestamp calculations. They do not infer feelings, read receipts or relationship health from your messages.
